17-year-old arrested in connection with Broken Arrow stabbing with sword

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. -- A 17-year-old was arrested after authorities said he stabbed a family member with a sword on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to the 4100 block of South Dogwood Avenue at about 3 p.m. Sunday in connection with the incident.

The woman who called police said she had been stabbed with a sword, and that the person with the sword had left the scene on foot.

The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated. She is expected to recover, police said.

The boy was found near the 4200 block of South Aspen Avenue. Officials said he had a laceration on his arm.

The boy was taken to the hospital and then arrested on a charge of domestic assault with a deadly weapon.
