NOBLE COUNTY, Okla. — A 16-year-old Stillwater girl died Tuesday afternoon after a crash in Noble County.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol accident report says that the girl was driving a 2010 Honda Pilot at about 4 p.m. on US-177 just south of State Highway 15 west when the crash occurred. The report says the girl was headed southbound on Highway 177, and the other vehicle involved in the wreck, A Chevrolet Silverado, was headed northbound.

The girl attempted to pass a separate vehicle, when she struck a vehicle in the northbound lane head-on, the report said.

The girl was pronounced dead on scene. A 52-year-old woman inside the vehicle, Carlyn Quigley, was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released. Another passenger inside the vehicle, a one-year-old girl, was not injured in the crash.

Family members said the girl who died in the crash had recently gotten her driver's license.

One person inside the vehicle that was headed northbound was taken to the hospital with head injuries.
