LAWTON, Okla. — A 12-year-old girl jumps into action when she says a stranger tried to take her brother from a restaurant.

In December, Makayla Phillips was eating lunch with her little brother and sister and her grandmother in Lawton when a stranger approached them.

Phillips says the stranger walked away, but then came back.

"She picked him up and took one step, but I grabbed him back from her and yelled at her and said don't touch my brother," Phillips said. "We were just yelling and she was saying my brother was her baby, and I was just yelling back at her saying that's not her baby. That's my brother."

She says her grandmother was standing by the little girl to protect her.

Police were called and are investigating.
