JENKS, Okla. - Jenks Public Schools kicks off a new school year with over 11,000 students Friday.

The district completed phase 1 of a remodeling project at Jenks High School and other construction projects in time for the first day.

Parents are encouraged to share pictures of their kids going to school Friday on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #jpsfirstday.

The district will also celebrate the end of the first day with Trojan Preview Friday at 5 p.m. at Hunter-Dwelley Field. The Jenks football team will scrimmage, and both the cheerleading and poms teams will perform.

The Tulsa Police Department shared advice earlier this week for parents sending their kids back to school.
