Former Oklahoma nurse arrested in Colorado; accused of tampering with vials of painkillers

DENVER -- TULSA -- A former Oklahoma nurse was arrested in Colorado following a federal Grand Jury indictment.

Kacey Unruh is accused of stealing vials of a potent painkiller and replacing them with other substances.

According to the indictment, Unruh removed Fentanyl and Hydromorphone while working the dialysis department of the University of Colorado hospital.

Unruh is also accused of diverting drugs while working at another medical facility in Oklahoma. Colorado is only of only six states that doesn't require background checks for doctors, nurses and other medical professionals who apply for a license.

Unruh is due in court on Wednesday.
