Creek County Literacy Program hosts rummage sale to benefit Tulsa Area United Way

SAPULPA, Okla. - The Creek County Literacy Program is hosting a rummage sale to benefit the Tulsa Area United Way starting Thursday. 

The sale will be at the Sapulpa Public Library's "Library Annex" at 15 N. Poplar Street. 

The sale includes books, tools, furniture and more. 

The program is raising money for the United Way in appreciate for the assistance it gives to the program.

The Tulsa United Way provides 22 percent of the program's budget each year. Allowing it to have free reading lessons and additional programming. 

"As a nonprofit we depend on the support we receive from agencies such as United Way, and if it wasn't for their support we wouldn't be able to offer our services, so we are dependent on that," said Creek County Literacy Program Executive Director Melissa Struttnann. 

The program is 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. and ends Friday.
