Cost Plus World Market coming to Tulsa's Midtown Village Shopping Center

TULSA-- City leaders say possible changes to the state’s liquor laws are already impacting our economy.

Cost Plus World Market recently submitted a new building construction permit for Tulsa’s Midtown Village Shopping Center.

The store sells home furnishings, gifts, wine and craft beer among other items.

It's coming here to the shopping center near Skelly between Sheridan and Yale-- the site of the former Children’s Medical Center, torn down in 2004.

The shopping center is vacant except for two stores.

“Having another anchor here besides best buy and bed bath and beyond and having world market here is huge to the city of Tulsa,” said District 5 City Council Member Karen Gilbert.

There is no timetable for when cost plus breaks ground on its new market. The company needs to go through the permit process first. Cost Plus submitted the application last week.
