Police department releases statement, say people should use 'common sense' while playing Pokemon Go

COFFEYVILLE, Okla. -- In a statement released Tuesday, the Coffeyville Police Department said people need to use "common sense" while playing Pokemon Go.

Along with the statement, the department released some reminders for the public to keep in mind while playing the popular game.

  • Don't trespass on other residents private property to collect your imaginary creatures
  • Don't hide in bushes around homes/businesse
  • Don't play your game inside businesses or places such as the hospital, police station or other places where you may interfere with business operations chasing your imaginary creatures
  • Don't play while driving (cars, bicycles, ANYTHING!)
  • Keep your eyes on the road! Even while walking down the sidewalks be aware of your surroundings so you don't become a victim of a crime simply because of your inattention.
