Broken Arrow intersections receiving million-dollar looks

Posted
and last updated

Broken Arrow is proposing spending at least $1 million to expand the intersections at Ninth Street and E Hillside and E Kenosha, making each turn lane two cars wide.

The proposal is part of a $210 million bond budget, which will go to a vote August 28. For details and the full project list of the General Obligation Bond, visit the GO Bond page.

The page assures voters the bond budget won't cost taxpayers anything. The city has a new room for the full expended project after paying off old bonds.

Those behind the project and the proposal say they took voters' concerns into account when coming up with a priority list, and say the two intersections were a hot topic. The expansion will only be a possibility if the bond budget passes by a 50 percent vote.
