Broken Arrow is proposing spending at least $1 million to expand the intersections at Ninth Street and E Hillside and E Kenosha, making each turn lane two cars wide.
The proposal is part of a $210 million bond budget, which will go to a vote August 28. For details and the full project list of the General Obligation Bond, visit the GO Bond page .
The page assures voters the bond budget won't cost taxpayers anything. The city has a new room for the full expended project after paying off old bonds.
Those behind the project and the proposal say they took voters' concerns into account when coming up with a priority list, and say the two intersections were a hot topic. The expansion will only be a possibility if the bond budget passes by a 50 percent vote.
