TULSA - All Souls Unitarian Church is hosting forum called, "What Are White People to Do?" on Thursday to discuss Tulsa's racial issues.
The forum will host various panelists who will discuss the psychology of racism, how to be an ally in activism, the lived experience of African Americans, and more.
The reverend behind the forum hopes it will encourage all people to make themselves part of the solution when it comes to Tulsa's racial issues, instead of the problem.
“Taking responsibility for racism for white people means leaning in to our discomfort, it means talking about race. We’re often taught not to. It’s often such a taboo in white society," said Reverend Barbara Prose.
Prose said the idea for the forum came from the aftermath of the shooting death of Terence Crutcher by a Tulsa Police officer. However, the conversation started at their church following the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
The forum starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday at All Souls Church.
