TULSA - Two people are dead after a pursuit with Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers Friday morning.

An OHP trooper attempted to stop a car for expired tags around 161st East Avenue and 61st Street.

The did not stop and OHP reports that it appeared the driver lost control of the car and crashed on U.S. 169, going northbound, near the 11th Street bridge.

Two of the occupants, ages 17 and 16, were later pronounced dead due to their injuries.

Three of the other occupants were also transported to a nearby hospital. A 15-year-old is said to be in critical condition. A 14-year-old is said to be in stable condition and another 16-year-old is said to be in stable condition as well.

Trooper Jonathan Lipe said this incident can be a lesson to drivers, "Just obey the law and if you do get stopped just pull over. This could’ve ended in a citation," he said.

The crash is still under investigation.
