TULSA - Police got a call about an armed robbery at the Family Dollar on 11th Street and Xanthus around 7:15 Wednesday morning.

Police say a white male, 20-30 years old, wearing a black hoodie, pants and a "homemade" white mask robbed the store at gunpoint.

He approached the clerk as she was opening the store, pointed his gun at her and demanded money. He grabbed the deposit bag she was holding and escaped through an alley.

The clerk wasn't hurt, but very shaken.

Police used a K-9 to track the suspect, but lost his scent about 3-4 blocks away. Police believe he either had a car parked close, or lives in the area.

Police said he seemed to know store procedures, and the clerk thought she recognized his voice.

The store was still closed as of 9 a.m., but police said it should open within the hour.
