TULSA - TheHumane Society of Tulsa's"Pet"riotic fourth of July adoption event gave many animals new homes, Saturday.
The event brought awareness to the dangers pets face on the fourth of July weekend. They are usually afraid of the fireworks and run away from home according to Tulsa Humane Society Executive Director Evan Fedam.
Making July fifth a very busy day for shelters traditionally.
Many of the dogs adopted were from recent hoarding situationsnear Tulsa.
If you wish to adopt a pet, the humane society plans to go back to its original location at 60th and Sheridan next week. Normal hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
