NOBLE, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says a 4-month-old baby girl has died after she was found unresponsive at an in-home day care last week.
Authorities announced Sunday night that the child died at a Tulsa hospital. On Friday, Noble police and OSBI special agents arrested the owner and operator of the day care on suspicion of child abuse in the case.
According to the OSBI, emergency responders were called to the in-home day care last Tuesday because the baby was unconscious. Authorities say the baby girl had suffered injuries consistent with child abuse.
The owner of the day care was arrested on a child abuse complaint and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services has shut down the facility.
