The 2016 Wizard World Comic Con opened it's doors inside the Cox Business Center Friday and thousands of people filled in hoping to get a glimpse of entertainment celebrities.

Headline guests included William Shatner, Sebastian Stan, Henry Winkler, Michael Rooker, Joey Fatone and many more.

Although stars such as Henry Winkler are not known for appearing in sci-fi film, Winkler says Comic Con is an opportunity to meet all of the people that supported his roles over the years.

“You make a television show in a studio, you don't meet anybody, everything is sound proof. Now, I get to meet everybody who likes different things that I've done, kids who read my books. I'm telling you it's a wonderful experience,” Winkler said.

Along with celebrity booths, cos-play fans will have the opportunity to compete in several costume competitions throughout the event.

With hit sci-fi movies and television shows, such as Walking Dead, preparing to enter new seasons actors like Michael Rooker attend the event to help promote the show.

Rooker, who stared as Merle Dixon in Walking Dead, says people within show business who have an opportunity to attend Comic Con should take advantage.

“If you have a movie coming out it's always good to get out and meet and greet and say hi to the fans, that's imperative. If you're a young actor or even singers and musicians, they do it as well,” Rooker said.
