Many prominent news outlets are suggesting that Kelly Ripa did not take the new of Michael Strahan’s departure from “Live” very well this week.
Just one day after the announcement of Strahan’s upcoming move to “Good Morning America” was made public, Kelly Ripa was absent from her co-host spot on “Live.”
Now, according to the New York Times, word is getting out that Ripa didn’t know of Strahan’s move until right before it was publicly announced.
The Times reports that a person who spoke with Ripa says the “Live” co-host felt "blindsided" by the announcement.
Former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Ana Gasteyer filled the absence left by Ripa on Wednesday, leaving Strahan to announce his department in September without Ripa.
According to CNN, Ripa will be absent from the show for the rest of the week and Monday next week due to previously scheduled vacation.
