If you like your Thanksgiving turkey traditional and predictable, look away.

The creative folks at Reynold’s Wrap who brought us the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos turkey recipe and even created an edible glitter turkey have done it again. This time they’re taking a Thanksgiving side dish and merging it with the bird to create a Thanksgiving meal that won’t be forgotten any time soon: macaroni and cheese turkey!

The turkey isn’t any harder to make than the traditional version, as it simply calls for the addition of some cheesy powder from your favorite boxed macaroni and cheese. All you’ll do is brush the turkey with oil, then fully coat it with the powdered cheese mixture.

For an extra-cheesy kick, you can also make some mac and cheese to serve alongside the turkey.

Take a look at the full recipe below:

Reynolds Wrap Mac And Cheese Turkey

One 10- to 16-pound turkey
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 pouches of powdered cheese from your favorite boxed macaroni and cheese
2 boxes of your favorite box macaroni and cheese, prepared (in addition to the two boxes needed for the cheese powder only)
Reynolds Wrap Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove neck and giblets from turkey. Rinse and pat dry.

Tear off a sheet of Reynolds Wrap Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil 2-1/2 times longer than turkey. Place turkey lengthwise in center of aluminum foil sheet to cook.

Brush with oil, then fully coat turkey in powdered cheese mixture.

Close foil loosely by overlapping the ends. Turn up short sides of aluminum foil to hold in juices. Do not seal airtight. Place foil-wrapped turkey in roasting pan at least 2 inches deep. Insert meat thermometer through foil into thickest part of inner thigh, not touching bone.

Roast turkey until meat thermometer reads 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove from oven and let stand for 15 minutes.

Remove and discard foil. Transfer to a serving dish and add prepared boxed macaroni and cheese for garnish.

If you’re not a fan of macaroni and cheese or just want to hold on to the flavors of fall a bit longer, Reynold’s Kitchen also has a recipe for pumpkin spice turkey. The pumpkin spice turkey is also pretty easy, but does call for quite a few seasonings to get that spicy autumnal flavor just right.

And to take a bit of the stress out of this year’s meal prep, take a look at this list of Thanksgiving shortcuts so you can enjoy more time with friends or family!

Will you be trying out a mac and cheese turkey this year or sticking with the classic?
