TURLEY, Okla. — A Turley church is paying it forward, making sure every student at Tulsa Legacy Charter School gets to have lunch.

"Such a huge blessing, especially being a mother, a mother of three small children," Taylor Hill said. "Having someone come in and take care of that just take a load off of my shoulders. It's one less thing I have to worry about."

Hill has three children. Her oldest is seven and a second grader at the elementary school.

"Making sure that they have everything that they need," Hill said. "Clothes and that they are fed and you know, that they have running water. Making sure that financially, it can be tight at times."

Her daughter, Amayan, loves her school, and the lunches, especially now that money is no longer an issue.

"It's really fun once you get know the teachers," Amayan said. "The lunches are good. I just like the milk."

James Jennings, the lead pastor at Woodlake Family Church of Turley, says when they found out the school needed help, it didn't take long for them to step in.

"I am overjoyed to do that," Pastor Jennings said. "We have great people that allow us to be able to help the community, help people in need. That's what we are here for. That's what the church is here for."

Building future leaders with one high five at a time.

"Helping mentor boys, mentor kids, and children in this area, that's our goal," Jennings said.

Principal Crolyn Statum says the donation brings relief to many parents.

"We have a very diverse population of scholars," Statum said. "Sometimes the scholars that we serve need additional resources in order to pay off their lunch balances and the things that we have at our school."

The pastors at Woodlake Family Church of Turley say they will continue to help the school and their community.
