The new limited-edition Kit Kat Birthday Cake is made with the same crisp wafers you’ll find in regular KitKats, all covered in white crème. But this new flavor is also accented with a colorful assortment of sprinkles. It marks the first time a Kit Kat bar will include sprinkles or any added elements to the bar’s coating.
The Birthday Cake Kit Kats will hit store shelves nationwide in April, but will only be around for a limited time, so make sure you stock up early.
“Kit Kat Brand takes flavor seriously and aims to deliver for our fans who are just as passionate about the endless flavor possibilities,” Justin Kukura, senior manager chocolate product development at The Hershey Company, said in a press release. “Kit Kat Birthday Cake delivers on the universal love of the layers of birthday cake flavor and aroma of frosting perfectly paired with the surprise crunch of sprinkles.”
Take an up-close look at the colorful sprinkles, which appear reminiscent of Funfetti:
Hershey’s says the Birthday Cake flavor is just a taste of what’s to come this year for Kit Kat. The brand has already released two new flavors in 2020: Raspberry + Crème for Valentine’s Day and Lemon Crisp, which sounds perfect for spring or any Easter baskets you may be making.
“Kit Kat as a brand is internationally recognized for its inventive flavors,” Susanne Prucha, marketing director, Kit Kat, said in the press release. “Our U.S. Kit Kat lovers have continued to voice a longing for new and imaginative flavors and that’s exactly what we’re giving them in 2020. We’ve kicked off the year with not one, but three new flavor innovations and can’t wait to announce what else we have in store!”
Birthday cake flavor is having a moment. If you can’t get enough of it, you can definitely find store items incorporating the combination (usually) of vanilla with sprinkles. For example, Cool Whip released a birthday cake whipped topping last year and it’s at Walmart.
