Netflix finally has a chance to score an Oscar for best picture this year thanks to it's film "Roma."

The black-and-white foreign-language film about the relationship between a maid and the middle-class family she works for was nominated for 10 Academy Awards Tuesday, including nods for best director, best cinematography and best actress.

In the best picture category, "Roma" is up against "Black Panther," "Bohemian Rhapsody," "A Star is Born," "The Favourite," "BlacKkKlansman," "Green Book" and "Vice."

Now, Roma is not the first film from a streaming service to get nominated in this coveted Oscar category. Amazon beat Netflix to the punch in 2017 with "Manchester by the Sea." But it didn't end up bringing home that Oscar statuette.

The sheer number of nominations "Roma" earned could already be seen as a win for Netflix, which reportedly spent somewhere in the ballpark of $20 million on the film's awards season campaign. Roma, which multiple critics have declared to be a "masterpiece" has already won the Golden Globes for best foreign language film and best director.

If "Roma" does win best picture at the 91st Academy Awards on Feb. 24, it'll not only be the first foreign-language film to win the night's top prize, but the first black-and-white film to win since "The Artist" in 2012 .
