A woman is recovering after a snake bite at Turkey Mountain, Friday afternoon.

While hiking through the wilderness park on Pink Trail, a snake bit the woman on the lower part of her leg. She was 2.5 miles in from the parking lot on the west side of the park.

Tulsa Fire and EMSA rescue crews responded to the call just after 4 p.m. With help from a group of mountain bikers, officials were able to locate the injured woman.

Rescuers were not able to specify the type of snake that attacked her, but believe it may have been a copperhead, which is poisonous.
