KREBS, Okla. – A father is in custody after attempting to drown an officer who tried to save his 2-year-old from drowning, says OSBI.

OSBI special agents were called to Choctaw Park in Krebs Friday morning after receiving reports that a girl, Emily Sizemore, who was recently reported missing was sighted.

When officials arrived, the little girl was found floating in a pond. A Krebs officer pulled her out and attempted CPR while the girl’s father, Devin Sizemore, stood nearby. The little girl was later declared dead.

When the officer attempted to arrest Sizemore, he attacked the officer and tried to drown him in the pond.

Investigators say the officer received minor injuries.

Authorities had been searching for Devin Sizemore and his 2-year-old daughter since Tuesday. Police were informed that Sizemore was acting oddly before the two went missing.

In court documents obtained by 2 Works For You, family members of Emily's mother, Margie Harris, became alarmed Thursday when Sizemore told them Emily "was with God." They said Devin told her "God has brought by the storm," and that "God had sent him (Devin) to tell everyone that the world was ending and everyone needed to get right with God."

Sizemore later told investigators he put Emily in the pond Friday morning to "baptize" her because of all the evil in the world."

The affidavit goes on to say Devin told investigators he held Emily under water for maybe 30 seconds. Something went wrong, but Devin said he was able to save Emily by performing CPR on Emily. He told them God told him to get a horse from the barn, and when he returned, he was attacked by police.

Neighbors near the private property say they're shocked.

"You hear of these things, you know they happen in your area," said Misti Hawkins. "If there was any way possible we could've saved that child, we would have."

Sizemore was arraigned Friday and has a bond of $1.1 million dollars.
