"We’re grateful for the partnership with KJRH again this year to help collect peanut butter in our community,” said Eileen Bradshaw, executive director of the Food Bank. “Peanut butter is an excellent source of protein and is usually a favorite among kids, so we’re thankful for the community rallying around this effort to help meet this need for local families.”

As soon as we know how much peanut butter and money was donated Thursday, we’ll update that information here

Last year, 2 Works for You viewers donated 1,614 pounds of peanut butter plus $542.47 during the one-day peanut butter drive.

The Food Bank can accept any and all peanut butter collected and will give it to families at their Free Families Farmers’ Markets, which provides fresh produce and bakery items to low-income students and their families at local early childhood education centers. Protein-packed items are the most-needed items at the Food Bank and help ensure families have access to nutritious food for their children.
