TULSA--Aware Tulsa held protests outside the courthouse this afternoon to take action against police brutality.

More than 50 people held signs wanting and demanding action from the Tulsa Police Department.

The organization wants new initiatives stating specifically that people of color are endangered by standard police practices and are calling for the resignation of Tulsa Police Chief, Chuck Jordan.

Aware Tulsa Co-Founder, David Harland said "We feel like his leadership has not be effective enough and we feel like he has delayed the initiatives in community policing and delays mean failure to implement."

2 Works for You has reached out to the Tulsa Police department regarding the organization's calling for Chief Jordan's resignation and are waiting to hear back.
