Tulsa Public Schools is getting more involved with the community, by conducting a series of 11 events.

Each event is giving parents and community members a voice.

Today's event was held specifically for the Spanish speaking community. Giving them the opportunity to ask questions about services and what families value the most.

Tulsa Public Schools Chief Financial Officer, Nolberto Delgadillo, hosted today's event.

He says the biggest take away today were the many different things the people value.

Each exercise challenged parents to make difficult decisions for the future of TPS.

Parents expressed concerns of classroom sizes, transportation, security, and more.

Delgadillo tells us, “It’s about shaping our future. It’s not about this one time event, this one time reduction. It’s about what are the things that are important to families. So we can then take that information back.”

He emphasized to the group how long the process may take.

Delgadillo believes it will take time, but they hope to create a successful future for TPS.
