TULSA – The man who was shot after attacking an elderly man has been confirmed dead, says police.
Several callers reported seeing a suspect behaving oddly and even attempting to open the front door of a west Tulsa home. Tulsa police arrived on scene and were searching for the suspect when they heard gunshots nearby.
Tulsa police say when they located the suspect they were looking for, he had been shot by a homeowner.
Lance Claunch, 23, reportedly attempted to attack the 73-year-old homeowner. The homeowner also told police that Claunch had knocked him down on the driveway and attempted to choke him.
Tulsa police say the homeowner told officers he was armed with a small caliber pistol and he fired two rounds at the suspect, Claunch.
Claunch later died from his injuries, say police.
