COFFEYVILLE, Okla. – The man accused of kidnapping, robbing and shooting a woman plead guilty this week to charges.
Bennie Freeman, 46, plead guilty to charges of shooting with intent to kill, kidnapping and robbery.
According to police, Freeman broke into the victim’s home in Muskogee, then kidnapped her at gunpoint and robbed her of $300, then took her to a home on Oktaha Road.
Afterwards, he shot her in the shoulder and in the back of her head, thinking he had left her for dead in a ditch. Miraculously, the victim got out and crawled 192 feet to a rural roadway and was seen by a nearby driver.
