TARC nonprofit organization is encouraging Oklahomans to write kind messages of hope to inspire people with developmental disabilities living in group homes or intermediate care facilities.
The letter-writing campaign is called "Hope Notes" and aims to spread joy for many who have been isolated during the pandemic.
"Because of the COVID-19 crisis and because of self-distancing, they have not seen their family members or their friends for several months now," explains Lisa Turner, the executive director of TARC.
The organization will be collecting the cards, letters and drawings between June 15 and June 30. The staff will distribute them to more than 1,500 individuals across the state.
To submit your Hope Note, you can either email them to TARC@ddadvocacy.net or mail them at:
