Hate mail being investigated in Muskogee

MUSKOGEE, Okla — Three men of color in Muskogee said someone targeted them with hate mail.

Tracy Cole, the first vice president of the NAACP Muskogee chapter, said he received text messages with racial slurs.

Deputy Mayor Derrick Reed said he received a shirt with the words, "I hate you."

Councilor Ivory Vann said he received a letter with derogatory comments about his articulation and other racial stereotypes.

Muskogee Police and the U.S. Postal Inspectors are now investigating.
