Bartlesville police announced on Saturday that K9 Officer Apollo passed away.
Captain Jay Hastings said Apollo suffered setbacks and was unable to recover. Apollo, 9, had surgery Friday.
Hastings said Apollo was able to return home with his handler, Sgt. Troy Newell.
"He passed peacefully with his partner, fellow officers, and other loved ones by his side," Hastings said. "Apollo was a good and faithful servant who will be missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him."
