Tulsa breaks 2009 homicide record after apartment stabbing

Police are investigating Tulsa's 72nd homicide of the year, breaking the record set in 2009.

Officers say a woman was stabbed around 3:30 a.m. Friday after getting into an altercation with someone she knew.

It happened at Riverview Park Apartments near 23rd and Southwest Blvd.

According to police, the suspect, Montoyia Corbit, 24, called 911 to report that she had stabbed someone. When police arrived, Corbit was detained while officers located the victim inside her apartment. She had been stabbed in the stomach.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where she later died. Her name has not yet been released.
