TULSA - Police were forced to use pepper balls during an early morning arrest on Cherry Street.

Officers were called to Kilkenny's Irish Pub and Grill after employees reported a man assaulting someone and throwing chairs inside the restaurant.

Employees told officers that the suspect, identified as Nicholas Joseph Cardonia, climbed onto the roof of a nearby apartment building.

After surrounding the building, officers say Cardonia started smashing pots and throwing the broken pieces of the pottery at the police. He then hid under an overturned couch.

The law enforcement team made contact with Cardonia, who officers described as intoxicated. Officers then deployed pepper balls until Cardonia complied with their orders.

He was arrested and is facing charges of public intoxication and resisting arrest.
