According to police, Retherford then took out a gun and killed himself.

Friday night, police responded to the Timbers condominiums and apartments near 85th Street and Delaware Avenue.

Officials say neighbors hadn't heard from a resident at the condo in a while, so they went in to check on her. Investigators later found the woman, later identified as 73-year-old Janet Donovan, dead with trauma to the head and a stab wound.

According to police, someone killed her shortly after she took out her garbage Wednesday night. Police also discovered that the woman's car had been stolen along with jewelry and guns.

Police say the suspect knew the woman through mutual friends. Police have not yet released the names of the suspect or the victim.

Police are asking that anyone who had contact with Retherford since Wednesday contact Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
