Students from all around Green Country came together today for a competition like no other.

Today 55 teams from districts around our area raced underwater robots they created.

Students had the chance to prove their robots speed and maneuverability in a series of challenges.

Classrooms across Green Country are able to participate in the competition free of charge thanks to multiple donors, who provided kits to local teachers.

The top two middle school and top two high school teams go to nationals.

Aleia DeVore, Communications Coordinator for the event tells us "it's something that that really allows them to get a hands on experience with STEM but then use it in a fun way where they get to compete and use it in a challenge and see there is something they can do with it. Not just classroom lesson"
