Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson beaten by Rob Frazier; Pearson was in office 16 years

MUSKOGEE COUNTY, Okla. - Long-time Sheriff Charles Pearson, Jr. saw his run as Muskogee County's top law enforcement officer come to end Tuesday night.

Pearson, who has served as Muskogee Co. Sheriff since 2000, lost to Rob Frazier by 292 votes.

According to MuskogeeNow.com, Pearson was able to show a sense of humor about the loss. "You made a huge mistake," Pearson told Frazier. "You won. You're going to do a good job, I know it."

Frazier will face Republican Roger Posey in Nov.
