SEQUOYAH COUNTY, Okla. – Friends and family are searching in Sequoyah County, trying to find a man who went missing recently.

The Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office says the search for Matthew Fagan, 23, of Webbers Falls started this week after he went missing Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m.

Fagan’s friends say they were hiking and he decided to trek back to the car because his feet were hurting. When his friends returned to the car, Fagan was not there.

Deputies on horseback and canines have been searching the area this week looking for any signs or clues.

Bridging the Gap, the group known for aiding in finding missing people, was notified of Fagan’s disappearance and have also starting helping with the search.
