TULSA -- Jury selection is underway for the former Tulsa Police officer, Shannon Kepler, charged with killing his daughter's boyfriend.

Monday, 60 potential jurors gathered inside a courtroom, filling out questionnaires before the jury selection began.

Defense attorney Richard O'Carroll is presenting as well as defendant Shannon Kepler. Also inside the courtroom was the prosecutor, District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler.

Kepler is charged with first degree murder and two counts of intent to kill.

In August of 2014, Kepler allegedly opened fire and shot his daughter's boyfriend, Jeremy Lake.

The judge in the case, Sharon Holmes, said after the jurors are finished filling out their questionnaires, the jury selection process will begin.
