A 1-year-old has died after being allegedly physically and sexually abused by the mother's boyfriend.
Tulsa police say 16-month-old Sawyer Paige Jefferson died Sunday evening at Saint Francis Hospital from injuries inflicted when she was allegedly physically and assaulted by her mother's boyfriend, Cody Johnson.

Officers say Johnson and the child's mother took the child to the emergency room on Saturday. They say the child was in cardiac arrest and was unresponsive. The child was put on life support and is in extremely critical condition.
TPD says the child had several face contusions and bruising and bleeding coming from her vagina and rectum. They said they were told that the child had "slipped on her pajamas and fell on her toy."
Both Johnson and the child's mother say he was in sole care and custody at the time of the child's injury.
Johnson was booked into the Tulsa County Jail Sunday for suspicion of physical and sexual abuse to the child.
Police say Johnson, who is already facing child abuse charges, will be charged with child abuse murder.
