TULSA, Okla. — Firefighters responded to a house fire in midtown Friday evening near East 10th Street and South 71st East Avenue.
The fire started in the garage and then the flames spread to the kitchen and the living room, according to the Tulsa Fire Department.
Officials said there was one occupant in the house at the time of the fire, but the person was able to get out safely.
Fire crews confirmed the family dog died in the fire.
The cause of the flames is under investigation.
