No serious injuries reported in south Tulsa apartment fire

TULSA -- Fire crews battled a south Tulsa apartment fire Wednesday evening; no serious injuries were reported.

Firefighters were able to rescue one person, who was transported to Hillcrest Medical Center, according to EMSA.

The call came out around 6:15 and fire crews quickly arrived and put the blaze out in a little more than an hour. 

The fire was reported at 6111 South Yorktown Avenue at the Pecan Creek apartments. Firefighters said the fire broke out in an upstairs apartment and was contained there although there was smoke damage done to surrounding units.

A burned mattress was visible on the ground of the apartment complex after the blaze was extinguished.
