Skylar Diggins of Notre Dame University is the newest player of the Tulsa Shock
Last night, at the 2013 WNBA draft, the Tulsa Shock selected Skylar Diggins of The University of Notre Dame.
She was the third pick overall, following Baylor University's Brittney Griner and Delaware's Elena Delle Donne, the No. 1 and 2 picks, respectively.
Diggins averaged 17 points and six assists a game with the Fighting Irish.
This is Diggins' first time to leave her home of South Bend, Ind., where she played high school and college basketball.
ESPN credited Diggins as the draft prospect with the most Twitter followers. She has more than 359,000.
Monday night, Diggins tweeted, "Dear Tulsa, Get ready to Shock the world!."
The Tulsa Shock finished the 2012 season 9-25.
The Tulsa Shock also picked University of Kansas' Angel Goodrich in the third round.
