OU Linebacker Corey Nelson to undergo surgery on torn pectoral muscle

Sooners senior linebacker Corey Nelson will undergo surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle, and will likely miss the rest of the season.

Nelson, a defensive captain, has had a fantastic season. He is second on the team wit 27 tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown in the opening minute of OU's defeat of Notre Dame.

Nelson suffered the injury in Oklahoma's 20-17 defeat of TCU Saturday.

Coach Bob Stoops said the procedure would take place Tuesday.
