North Korea military to goes on alert

ULSAN, South Korea - North Korea is escalating its latest round of threats against the United States.

The North Korean Supreme Command says it will place military units on "number one combat-ready status."

State run television says strategic rocket units and long-range artillery units capable of hitting U.S. bases in Hawaii, Guam and the U.S. mainland are moving into place.

The move is in retaliation to tougher U.N. sanctions and joint military drills by the United States and South Korea.
