Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa holds opening weekend events

TULSA - April 27, the Woody Guthrie Center will open its doors to the public.

Located at 102 E. Brady in Tulsa, the center will kick off its opening weekend with a ribbon cutting. Featured speakers include Mayor Dewey Bartlett, Bob Santelli, executive director of GRAMMY Museum and Nora Guthrie, Woody Guthrie's granddaughter and president of the Woody Guthrie Foundationn & Archives, among others.

From 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, an opening concert at Guthrie Green will feature performances by Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion, Ramblin' Jack, Jimmy LaFave, Red Dirt Rangers and Desi and Cody.

Sunday, the event continues with several more events, slated from 1 to 6 p.m.
