TULSA — Two people were arrested Sunday night during a traffic stop after police said they located methamphetamine in their vehicle.
The traffic stop happened on I-244 just after 9 p.m. on Sunday. Officers said the driver of the vehicle was speeding and right of center on the road.
Tulsa police said the driver of the vehicle, Jamie Hughes, 33, was breathing extremely heavily and making conflicting statements when they pulled her over. Hughes and a passenger of the vehicle, Ricardo Bra, 28, were asked to step out of the vehicle.
A K9 officer conducted a sniff of the vehicle and alerted officers to the presence of controlled substances. Officers said the substances tested positive to be meth and cocaine.
Police said there were five children inside the vehicle, and that the drugs were concealed under them.
Hughes was arrested on numerous drug and child neglect counts, and Bra was arrested on one count of trafficking controlled drugs and one count of child neglect. He is being held by ICE.
