Tulsa County Courthouse evacuation a false alarm, says spokesman

TULSA - Tensions were high at the Tulsa County Courthouse Tuesday as alarms sounded a building evacuation, but officials say no one was ever in any danger.

Dust and debris kicked up by a roofing contractor made its way into an elevator shaft, signaling the alarm, according to Tulsa County spokesman Michael Willis.

Employees filed out of the building just after 3:30 Tuesday afternoon, but were allowed back in within five to 10 minutes, Willis said.

The Muskogee County Courthouse was evacuated (http://bit.ly/courtevacuation) Monday after receiving a bomb threat. Police are still investigating the threat.
