TPS parents: Road project to affect traffic at McClure Elementary, Early Childhood Education Center

TULSA - Beginning next week, road construction will affect traffic near south Tulsa's McClure Elementary School and the Early Childhood Education Center next door.

A new phase of the 61st Street project will shut down the street completely between Rockford and Yorktown avenues.

“We want parents to be aware of upcoming construction and how it will affect them getting their kids to the school,” said Principal Katy Jimenez. “The safety of our students is very important and spreading the word about this project and how it will impact the McClure community is vital to protect everyone.”

The project is expected to last between six and 10 months, blocking off existing access to the school parking lot.

A temporary driveway was constructed near the intersection at Yorktown Avenue.

Parents were sent a letter with a map, including detailed instructions for pickup and drop-off.  See that map by clicking on the link above.
