TAHLEQUAH -- Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a Tahlequah toddler in an accident Thursday.
Investigators say October French, 1, was pronounced dead at Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah from head injuries she sustained in a private drive way just before 6 p.m. on Wanetah Drive in Cherokee County.
According to OHP, the driver was an 18-year-male, Adrian Sanders. Investigators say he was backing up his 2001 Ford pick-up out of the driveway when the toddler wandered behind the truck. They say the driver didn't see the girl and ran into her as he drove in reverse.
Another 18 year-old, a 14-year-old and another 1 year-old were also in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Adrian Sanders along with the other passengers were not injured, according to reports.
