Shots fired into north Tulsa duplex early Wednesday morning
Shots fired into south Tulsa duplex; no one injured
TULSA - A south Tulsa family was shaken up by a shooting Wednesday morning when four teenagers inside were nearly hit by bullets flying through their window.
Tulsa police responded to the Gardens on Utica near 71st and Utica around 3 a.m. after a report of shots fired into the window of a duplex.
Police say several rounds were fired through a third-story window. One of the teenagers said as soon as they realized what the "pops" were everyone in the room hit the ground.
"I had a friend that was so close to the window he could've got shot," said Derrick Brice.
Brice said he and his friends are still in shock. He and his family have lived in the duplex for about two years and they say it's a safe neighborhood.
Investigators believe this was a random act and the kids did not provoke the attack. They're also unsure if the person who fired the shots took off in a car or on foot.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-COPS.
