Tulsa -- The 2 Works For You Problem Solvers step in after a man says his neighbors abandoned four chained dogs months ago.

Jerry Jackson explained, "They’re chained up on them little chains. Half of them don't have collars; it's just the chain. The chains are so wound up, one of the dogs done cut herself all up."

Jackson lives next to the dormant house and started feeding and giving water to the dogs after he noticed no one was home for weeks.

He said, “I was getting worried about the dogs being back there by themselves with no shelter or food or water."

Weeks turned into two months. Jackson called animal control and explained the situation but was told if an officer went out and saw food and water, nothing could be done.

He called the Tulsa Animal Shelter several more times but saw no results. After contacting the Problem Solvers, Travis Guillory gave animal control a call and an officer went out the next business day.

That officer left a notice. Jackson was told by animal control that if no one responds within 24 hours, the dogs will get picked up.

Jackson said, “I just want to thank channel 2 for coming out and helping me solve this little problem I was having."

Now, to avoid euthanization, the dogs could be adopted or taken in by rescue organizations so they can finally know a life unlike what they've had.
